Quiet House

My children went back to school in the middle of last week and I am now trying to get back into some sort of routine. I can’t believe how quickly seven and a half weeks of school holidays have just disappeared! The house seems so very quiet now and it’s funny how you miss all the chatting and laughing and noise of lots of children generally charging around the house causing mayhem!

However, now that they are back to school, my absolute favourite time of the day is just after I have come back from doing the school run in the morning. That is when I make myself something yummy for breakfast, along with a nice cup of tea, and I settle myself down to read a few chapters of whatever book I happen to have on the go ~ Blissful........

I can also now get back to doing some serious crocheting without the constant cries of ‘MUM’ every two minutes. I have nearly finished my Colourful Crochet Cushion Cover but disaster has struck and I have run out of my lovely Pier coloured Rowan DK Wool........ with only one round to go! The only good thing about running out of wool is that it gives me an excuse to go into Edinburgh for a bit of a woolly shopping spree ~ although I don't think that many of us need an excuse for woolly shopping! Do we? :O)

I never need an excuse... although I have to order mine over the internet as there's not a stockist near enough to me :( Ah, one day I shall open a lovely yarn shop in the village next to the one I live in, I've spied out the shop I want and have planned it all in my mind. Just need that big lottery win now :) Do let us know what colours you pick! x

the 2nd is D day for me....

I actually sent Mr P to get some wool for me and he came back with MORE than I asked him for! I was stunned!

Beautiful cushion, I hope you enjoy your peace and quiet... as jamie didn't get a place on the bus I will be spending most of my day in the car... hey ho!
I can still crochet in the car!

I have really enjoyed having my little ones around me over the summer, they don't go back 'til the end of next week - I must admit your morning is sounding rather appealing x

Wow your holdays did seem to go very quickly but you did seem to pack a lot of adventures in to them. Running out of wool mid project is a horrible feeling, I hope you find the same one waiting for you at the shop. Enjoy your quiet time.

Ahh we are still in holiday mode here, the children go back to school next week.(and DH) My youngest starts nursery by the end of september. So in the mornings I wont know what to do with myself. LOL. I am sure i can think of something though.

Oh its annoying when you run out of something crucial mid project. But its always nice to have a reasons to go out and stock up again though! for me its fabric, nothing beats coming home after a trip out with a good fabric stash to moon over!

My Little People go back on the 7th and as much as i have enjoyed them and our summer together, I am SO looking forward to some space and quiet. I also LOVE that time of day the best, that walk back through the door after the school run and supermarket, coffee machine on, a potter in my back yard to talk to the flowers. Love it, and have missed it.

Enjoy your wooly shopping!!!!
