Mountainous!

I’ve got a little bit of a dilemma for you all today!

Faced with this mountain ....

Or this mountain....

Which one would you prefer to be standing looking at?

Well ~ I know which one that I would choose! But unfortunately for me I was standing at the bottom of this very large mountain of ironing yesterday.

Be warned ladies ~ as this is what happens when you spend your days playing hooky with a small metal stick and some wool instead of tackling the very yucky housework!

I had taken the very necessary step of removing the enormous pile of clothes from the airing cupboard as it was in danger of causing a small avalanche and threatening to topple down on top of anyone who happened to move or go anywhere near it!

I spent the whole of yesterday ironing and it took me 4 very long and tedious hours of just standing ironing ~ there were just under 100 items of clothing making up that mountain ~ I know this because I actually took the time to count them!

I am so very, very glad that it is now done and I can get on with doing something else a little bit more constructive ~ such as sitting with my feet up with some lovely crochet and a nice cup of tea :O)

I prefer to look at the nice neat pile that has been nicely ironed. Ready to wear.
I like reading your blog.

Oh, the first mountain, please! I keep the ironing board up next to the computer, and try to get through a bit as I wait for our (very slow) computer to download things.

I just noticed that Isabelle Kessedjian is one of your followers. That is quite impressive - I read a really good article about her in a French magazine - she's quite popular over here!

Well done getting through that lot, I bet it was worth it for the satisfaction alone :) Xx

Oh my goodness! Ironing is my least favourite chore so i avoid it as much as possible. I hang our clothes to dry then i give them a 5 minute zap in the tumble dryer to loosen the creases and then i hang them in the wardrobes! Job done! Of course some things have to be ironed so i don't get away with it completely.

Not me. I don't iron. I don't buy anything that needs to be ironed and on the odd occasion something just can't go without a press, I send it to my Mother in law's.

Ironing is the LAST chore I want to do, really. So I get my husband to do it. But good on you for kicking that laundry mountain down.

Hi Jackie
Congratulations on getting through that mountain of ironing! I hope that you enjoyed a treat afterwards? I tend to iron on Sunday evenings in front of the television- it is now almost a ritual and a good distraction as I iron a pile of my husband's business shirts- ughhhh!

Well done you but I would prefer a log cabin gazing at the first mountain and being told I have to stay and crochet till the blanket is finished.... it would be one very big blanket! ;D
