Granny Squares

These are the four little Granny Squares that I have managed to make from the lovely new wool that I bought last weekend. They are by no means perfect, but I don't think that they are too bad for a first attempt ~ what do you think? I have still got to sew in all the ends and then I am going to attempt to sew them together. I'm not sure whether or not they will need to be blocked at this stage, but I'm sure time will tell!

There's not much planned for this weekend as I have a coughing child at home and she is feeling rather sorry for herself ~ we will probably all just stay in and keep cosy under blankets on the sofa, drinking tea, eating yummy snacks and watching DVD's. We could all do with a bit of a rest as we have got a very busy time ahead at school next week as we break up on Friday for our Summer Holidays.

I hope that everyone has a lovely weekend :O)

Lovely squares, makes me wish that I could crochet....I have a book that tells me it will be easy...but that is as far as I have got! Ooops.

I don't go that fast with my cross-stitch, I haven't done a really big project yet, just little ones. I have heaps of ideas and for every magazine I buy, a huge list of things that I want to create!

Haven't decided re: students at the birth, they did say it would only be the one, so that perhaps wouldn't be so bad....depends what hubby thinks, I suppose!

Have a great weekend!

Well done Jackie! I don't think I'll do that well with my first attempt! You must be chuffed to bits!

I love your squares! I have just started to crochet and have been making some granny squares to put together as a blanket for my daughter's bed. She is 8 and I think it might just be ready when she's leaving home!! LOL!
By the way I love your blog!

well done on the squares - I've learned that things always seem better when you have nice wool :-). Your holidays start next Friday -- we have a few weeks left yet?

Thanks for visiting my new blog and leaving that lovely comment. Those squares look great! Somewhere on the internet I saw a photo of a whole lot of single coloured granny squares strung up as a garland. Since then I have been thinking about how striking they are and that i need to make some. I'm looking forward to watching what happens with yours.
